What are my responsibilities?
- City Account Manager (CiAM) is responsible for the maximization of the City Account penetration and profitable growth of the defined Siemens City Account.
- He/ she is supported by a virtual Siemens Account Team and the Center of Competence City (CoC Cities).
- The CiAM operates on the basis of the “Siemens Account Management and Market Development Guideline”.
- The position should be held in average 5-7 years.

- External: City customer stakeholders, Partners (e.g. OEMs, reseller, consultants, competitors), Sector Industry Associations, Account Management Associations
- Internal: City CoC, RGM/PGM, Account Team incl. respective Account Managers, MDB/VSS organizations, Executive/Sector/Division/BU Management (cross-division), Sales Management (Regions/Divisions/BUs), CD SO
Area of responsibility:
1. Focuses on city solution business. Develops 3 to 5-year account strategy for the City Account based on strategic goals of the city, market knowledge, and business opportunities defined with the city customer. This account strategy is the task of the Virtual Account Team, led by the CiAM, with the participation of all relevant Siemens Divisions and Regions in the Account Team.
2. Provides value to the city customer by creating new business together and by sharing information about market, industry and market intelligence and with this develops new business opportunities for Siemens. Moreover, he/she coordinates the customer’s needs to the respective Siemens Divisions/BUs.
3. Focuses and pursues strategic business opportunities through collaboration with Sectors, Divisions, CoC Cities and Regions.
4. Formulate a strategic Account Business Plan (acc. to APP+) in alignment with the business planning of the respective Regions and BUs.
5. Build/maintain sustainable relationships with the appropriate city customer key stakeholders and facilitate/maintain relationships on executive and senior levels between city customer key stakeholders and Siemens management (including Exec. Relations Program).
6. Responsible for the achievement of the city account business targets.
7. Responsible for implementation of short/mid-term account planning for his/her account.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Thorough understanding of the infrastructure and city market, its drivers, challenges, of key competitors and of likely future trends in the relevant market/industry sector. Knows/understands the core processes of cities and the relevant industries; knows the processes of his or her city and understand implications to be able to identify additional business potential for Siemens. Has knowledge of business management, e.g. regarding planning, financing, contracts, operations
- Proven competences / experience in strategy / business development. Has knowledge of Executive Selling Techniques as a structured process for selling value at the executive level to achieve competitive advantage. Knows and applies profound risk management techniques.
- Has knowledge about the strategy and the portfolio of the relevant (MDB) Divisions/Bus. - - Knows/understands the overall Siemens portfolio, organization and the Siemens Sales Processes. Understands business plans and business development processes; able to apply Value Selling Techniques. Has knowledge of commercial methods and tools such as pricing, terms & conditions, controlling. Able to apply IT tools for his/her work. Knows/understands the core processes of Opportunity and Offer Management.
- Applies professional communication, presentation, networking and lobbying skills up to CxO level. Has theoretical and practical knowledge in interrelations: intercultural communication, motivation techniques, management of conflicts, conventions and mediation.
